FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Is your worship style traditional or contemporary? 

The River has a contemporary style of worship led by a praise band. We sing contemporary songs that speak to the heart of worship although we have been known to include a meaningful hymn from the rich tradition of that style of music.


2. Is there a children's and youth program during the Sunday morning service?

We have nurseries available for infants and walkers and children’s ministry for 2 1/2 years through 5th grade on Sundays during worship. Students 6th grade and above are encouraged to learn and worship in our morning service. Generate High School ministry meets on Sunday at 6:30 pm and Current Middle School Ministry meets on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. 


3. How often do you celebrate communion?

We celebrate the sacrament of communion once a month on the 1st Sunday.


4. Do you offer assistance to the community?

We have lots of different ways that we engage in caring for the community in and around Redlands. We have food ministries, volunteering opportunities, we work in our local schools, we provide opportunities for the homeless to be fed, shower and wash their clothes. 5. Do you offer the Celebrate Recovery program?

We have operated a Celebrate Recovery program in the past, but we presently do not have group here at the River.  


6. What is GEMS/ Cadets? When do GEMS/CADETS meet?

GEMS and Cadets are boys and girls programs, whose purpose is to help children's growth with Christ, thru badges, fun nights, and growing with small groups. The programs are for children 1st- 5th grade. GEMS and Cadets function throughout the school year and meet generally twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. 7. Do you rent out your facilities to non-members for weddings or other events?

We allow only members of the River to rent our facilities for weddings. We do allow non-members to rent our facilities for other activities (funerals, conferences, etc.) pending leadership approval of that activity. More information is available on our Event/ Facility Usage Page
